What should I do if my cartridge crystalizes?

***Crystallization is not an indication of product defectiveness***
Our cartridges are formulated with extremely pure cannabinoids. As a result, vaporizer cartridge crystallization is very common. If your cartridge has crystallized you should refrain from using it until it has been liquified. Failure to liquify the cannabinoids will prevent the cotton wick from properly functioning, which will cause it to burn and release an unpleasant vapor.
There are a few things you can do to liquify your cannabinoids and increase the wick's absorption. The following methods are what we have found to be most convenient and effective at home remedies.
- Warm water in a microwave safe container until 150oF. Place your cartridge in a Ziplock bag and submerge it in the water for one minute. After one minute has elapsed, remove the submerged cartridge and inspect it for liquidity. If crystals are still visible, submerge the cartridge once more and inspect after one minute. Do not exceed more than 5 minutes as the terpenes are very sensitive to high temperatures and may volatilize. Once the crystals have been dissolved (the vaping solution should be free-flowing and absent of visible crystals) remove the cartridge from the Ziploc bag and allow to cool. Do not immediately use the device as the ceramic mouthpiece may be very hot!
- If you have access to a heat gun, use the low setting to warm the cartridge. This may take up to two minutes depending on the wattage of your air gun. Follow the same precautions as stated in method one, and do not over heat.
- Pre-warm a kitchen oven on its lowest setting (typically 170 degrees Fahrenheit). Place your vape cartridge in an oven safe container and warm for 10 to 15 minutes. Follow the same precautions stated above. Do not overheat.
Once more, upon liquifying the contents of the vape cartridge allow it to cool prior to use. Do not use the vape cartridge right away as the mouthpiece might be very hot and may burn you.
